C5 - Partnering with Patients: Developing an Effective Peer Mentoring Program

This workshop will focus on the development, implementation and integration of peer mentoring services within a methadone treatment program, with a specific focus on strengthening the therapeutic alliance between the patient and the program. Potential benefits relating to patient outcomes and staff utilization management will be discussed. The presenters will focus on providing information the workshop participants will need to replicate all or part of the initiative at their own programs. One key area of focus will be the development and implementation of a training curriculum for the peer mentors including a specific focus on co-occurring disorders.
