Gloria Hanania has been working in the behavioral health and addictions field for the past 23 years. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and earned her Master’s Degree from the University of North Florida. She is certified through the State of Florida as an Addictions Professional and a Certified Prevention Professional. Her career has been dedicated to work focusing on co-occurring issues and helping patients, families and communities understand the link between substance abuse and mental health issues.
Ms. Hanania has spent the past 21 years at River Region Human Services, Inc. where she has worked in a variety of positions and currently is the Associate Executive Director. Ms. Hanania first began working with clients with opioid dependence back in 1991 while working at the residential center and continued her work with this population throughout her career. In 2001she became the Senior Director of Substance Abuse Services which included the Methadone Program and became involved with the State Association for Opioid Dependence.
Ms. Hanania is the current Chairperson for the Florida Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (FATOD) and received the Professional of the Year award in 2011 from the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association.
