Jina Thalmann is the Program Director of the Medication Assisted Recovery Program of the Center for Drug-Free Living, Inc. in Orlando, Florida. Ms. Thalmann has been a leader in the field for the treatment of opioid dependency in the correctional setting. She took the lead in 2001 by developing the Methadone Program for the Orange County Jail in Orlando, Florida. Because of her work, Orlando has the only residential program in Central Florida that allows methadone maintenance patients to participate in their program. Additionally, her work with the Drug Court has impacted the practice of allowing patients in Drug Court to be on methadone or buprenorphine. Ms. Thalmann received the Nyswander Dole Award during April, 2006.
