Dr. Kahn is the President of the California Opioid Maintenance Providers (COMP) and a Board Member of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD).

Dr. Kahn joined the military, serving in the Philippines and Viet Nam. He earned a Bachelor's, Masters, and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology. After graduate school, he traveled overland for two years throughout Europe, Asia, and the Soviet Union. When returning to California, he specialized in the treatment of addictions.

Since the late 1960's, he has administered programs treating mental health and substance abusing patients. He first began treating opioid dependence in 1969, and has since written numerous articles, and presented professional papers at National and International Conferences on the subject.

Dr. Kahn has administered and co-administered opioid treatment programs (OTP), treating thousands of patients throughout the United States. He has served as a consultant to several states, as well as, governments within the United States, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary and other European Countries.

Dr. Kahn co-developed a toxicological and clinical laboratory, today providing toxicological services throughout the nation. He published a book entitled To Your Health, offering insights into our biochemistry and psychology. He has raced motorcars professionally for the past two decades.

Dr. Kahn is married, the father of three and stepfather of three children. He and his family make their home, in Las Vegas, Nevada and San Diego, California.
