First-Vice President

Mr. Holden has been working in the field of methadone treatment for 33 years. He received his education from the University of Maryland and is Vice President of the District of Columbia Certification Board. In addition, Mr. Holden is a Clinically Certified Supervisor and a Clinically Certified Drug Therapist.

Mr. Holden became a counselor at the Man Alive Treatment Program in Baltimore in 1969, where he also became the Chairman of the Evaluation Committee and a member of Man Alive's Board of Directors.

Later in 1971, he accepted a position as a counselor at PIDARC, a new program that was starting in Washington, DC. Subsequently in 1975, he became the Director of PIDARC, a position in which he continues to hold.

He became a member of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence , representing the District of Columbia at its inception and currently serves as the First Vice-President. Mr. Holden is the recipient of the Nyswander & Dole Award for outstanding contributions to methadone treatment. This award was given to him on December 3, 1985 at the second annual Northeast Regional Methadone Conference in Cherry Hill, NJ. Mr. Holden is married and currently resides in Maryland.
