Below, please find the general descriptions  and recordings for each webinar.

We produced a successful no cost webinar series which provided updated electronic manuals in support of the four different SAMHSA Extranet accounts which was funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The primary purpose of these webinars was to encourage Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) throughout the United States to utilize SAMSHA’s Web-based OTP Extranet system when submitting patient exception requests through SAMHSA’s regulatory oversight process. At the present time, many OTP personnel continue to fax paper exception requests to SAMHSA. As many people may know, exception requests submitted through the four types of SAMHSA OTP Extranet accounts (Counselor, Program Physician, Program Program Sponsor, Program Director) will get a faster turnaround from SAMHSA representatives. This is an especially important issue at the present time since SAMHSA anticipates getting a greater number of exception requests, which will need to be coordinated through the State Opioid Treatment Authorities (SOTAs). These webinars were one hour in length.

The webinars were coordinated through AATOD’s office; however, the newly updated electronic manuals were being developed by representatives from the American Institutes for Research (AIR). AIR representatives conducted the webinars with PowerPoint presentations, reflecting the material contained in the electronic manuals. The presentations were followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.
