Mr.
Jackson is the Executive Director of Evergreen Treatment Services
(ETS), a private non-profit organization, in Seattle, Washington,
that provides outpatient opioid treatment to over 1200 patients
in clinics in Seattle and Olympia, WA. Mr. Jackson has been an Investigator
on many research projects which have been conducted at ETS over
the past decade. Those studies have investigated treatment, motivational
enhancement and acupuncture interventions for opiate dependent individuals,
cocaine addicts and marijuana dependent individuals. He is currently
a Co-Principal Investigator for the Washington Node of NIDAs
Clinical Trials Network. He is an Affiliate Professor at the University
of Washingtons School of Social Work where he teaches graduate
and undergraduate course on addiction.
Mr.
Jackson has been working as a clinician, administrator, educator,
researcher and consultant in the field of addiction treatment since
1972. In 1997 he was named the Social Worker of the Year by the
Washington State Chapter of NASW. In 2003 he was awarded the Nyswander-Dole
Award by the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence
for his contributions to the field.
