Roye Brown is the Executive Director and Program Sponsor of Choices of Louisiana, Incorporated. Choices of Louisiana is a multi site OTP organization offering medication assisted treatment to Louisiana’s citizens at three locations, Hammond, Alexandria, and La Place. Mr. Brown has served in his current position since 1996. During this time, he has been active in numerous legislative endeavors focusing on increasing patient rights and the accessibility of OTP services. Mr. Brown has been appointed to three special legislative rule making committees. He has also focused on reducing stigma associated with medication assisted treatment by making numerous presentations relating to opioid dependency treatment at state addictive disorders conferences. Roye has extensive experience in disaster preparedness and response and has presented on this topic at a previous AATOD conference.
Mr. Brown received a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Augusta State University in Augusta Georgia and is currently a Louisiana Licensed Addiction Counselor and Certified Clinical Supervisor. He has over 25 years experience working with addictive disorders patients having worked in almost every modality of treatment. His prior experience includes: In-patient residential treatment, intensive outpatient, adult psych, and extended care facilities.
Roye is a founding member of the Louisiana Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependency and has served as LATOD’s representative to the AATOD Board since 2001.
