Increasing Medicaid Utilization for OTPs Series
We have been meeting with federal officials, encouraging the expansion of Medicaid to treat opioid addiction in the United States. We are specifically focusing on the 16 states that currently do not provide Medicaid reimbursement for OTPs when Medicaid beneficiaries are accessing care. A number of states are developing plans to provide Medicaid reimbursement but it is too early to report on this progress at the present time.
As many of our members know, we have been producing webinars focusing on this topic during 2016 and have continued to do so in 2017.

SAMHSA Extranet Webinar Series The primary purpose of these webinars was to encourage Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) throughout the United States to utilize SAMSHA’s Web-based OTP Extranet system when submitting patient exception requests through SAMHSA’s regulatory oversight process.
